About Associate Professor Dr. Ömer Faruk Ünverdi

I began my medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2003. After completing my medical education in 2009, I started my residency training at Erciyes University Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2011 and completed it in 2016 with my thesis titled ‘Effects of microneedle length and duration of preconditioning on random pattern skin flaps in rats’, becoming a Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist.

In the same year, I was appointed to Kocaeli Derince Training and Research Hospital, where I served as the Clinical Administrative Director for 2 years. In 2017, I successfully passed the proficiency examination conducted by the Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and was awarded the National Board Certification. Throughout my training and specialist career, I have conducted extensive work in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

After completing my compulsory state service obligation, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Medicine. After serving at Okan University for 1 year, I left this position and worked at the Esteworld Plastic Surgery Complex.

In August 2021, I passed the oral examination of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and earned the title of Fellow (FEBOPRAS). Following my scientific studies, I succeeded in the evaluation conducted by the Interuniversity Board in 2023 and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

Between 2022 and 2024, I worked abroad as a Plastic Surgery Specialist for 2 years to further enhance my professional knowledge and skills as well as to complete my language training. Since 2024, I have been continuing my professional and academic work at my own private clinic established in Konyaaltı / Kuşkavağı, Antalya.
