PRP Therapy

PRP Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a substance derived from an individual's own blood. The blood cells called platelets, which are responsible for blood clotting, are extremely rich in growth factors. In the product known as PRP, platelets are separated from other blood cells, concentrated, and injected into the targeted treatment area. As mentioned above, the mechanism of action of PRP relies on stimulating tissue regeneration by injecting the growth factors found naturally in the blood—which promote healing—directly into the skin. Its applications in skin care span a wide spectrum, and it is especially used in the treatment of conditions such as wound healing, wrinkle reduction, and hair loss. Although PRP is sometimes claimed to grow new hair from scratch, the general consensus in scientific studies is that it reduces hair loss and thickens existing hair follicles. It is frequently preferred by both women and men experiencing hair loss. Especially for our patients who strictly do not want any foreign substance injected into their bodies, we can say that PRP is the primary choice. PRP therapy has no known contraindications or side effects and can be repeated; however, the frequency of sessions should generally be decided together with our patient.
